Description/Why will you love Triphala?

Triphala (Sanskrit; tri = three and phala = fruits), a well-recognized polyherbal combination made from the dried powder of the fruits of the plant species Emblica officinalis (Amalaki), Terminalia bellerica (Vibhitaki), and Terminalia chebula (Haritaki). This powerful fruit blend supports gastrointestinal health by promoting optimal digestion, absorption, and assimilation of the food. Being helpful in digestion, it is supporting regular bowel movements and colon health. Triphala bolsters immunity as well as encouraging the natural cleansing of the body. It promotes rejuvenation and nourishment of the tissues that enhances one’s longevity. It supports detoxification of liver from accumulated toxins and strengthens the eye. Triphala is a tridoshic formula and brings balance to all body constitutions (doshas). As per Ayurveda, Triphala is regarded as one of the greatest and more versatile herbal formulations with immense health benefits.

The power behind Triphala's many benefits comes from the individual herbs that make up the formula. Each of these herbs also have their own uses. The pulp of Amalaki fruit is a main component in the rejuvenatory formula which has a very high concentration of Vitamin C. It balances all doshas but it’s particularly effective for reducing Pitta because of its coolness. Vibhitaki another powerful ancient rejuvenator known for its detoxifying qualities on the blood, muscles, and fatty tissue of the body. This fruit is appropriate for all types of Kapha imbalances. Haritaki, due to its purifying and strengthening properties, is the most potent digestive herb in triphala that encourages colon cleansing. Due to Haritaki’s warmness, it stabilizes and calms Vata.

Athreya’s Triphala is also available in powder form. Athreya also uses Triphala with other herbs in the form of herbal ghee and capsules (Add products)

Amalaki is a deciduous small to medium-sized tree which grows upto 8 to 18 m tall. Grows in tropical regions and is native to India. crooked trunk and spreading branches, and grayish-green bark that peels off in flakes. The branchlets are glabrous or finely pubescent, 10–20 cm long, with the leaves simple, subsessile, and closely set along the branchlets. The leaves are light green, resembling pinnate leaves. The flowers are greenish-yellow, borne in axillary fascicles, and give way to globose fruit. The fruits are depressed globose in shape, 1–2.5 cm in diameter, fleshy, and obscurely six-lobed, containing six trigonous seeds. They are green when unripe and turn light yellow or brick red when mature. The fruit contains dark brown seeds.

Vibhitaki is a large deciduous tree to 50 m tall with the rounded crown found throughout the Indian forest and plains. Leaves are petiolate, broadly elliptic, clustered towards the end of branches. Flowers are greenish yellow, simple, in axillary spikes with a strong honey-like smell. Calyx lobes are pubescent outside, and flowers appear along with new leaves. The fruits are green and inflated when young and yellowish and shrink (nearly seen as ribbed) when mature. The nut is stony. The generic name ‘Terminalia’ comes from Latin word ‘terminus’ or ‘terminalis’ (ending) and refers to the habit of the leaves being crowded or borne on the tips of the shoots.

Haritaki is a tree native to Southern Asia and India. It is a medium to large deciduous tree that can grow up to 30 m in height. It has cylindrical bole, rounded and spreading branches. The Haritaki tree’s leaves are alternate to sub-opposite in arrangement. Leaves are 10-30 cm long elliptical with an acute tip and cordate base. Flowers are short stalked, monoecious, dull white to yellow with a strong unpleasant odour, found in simple terminal spikes or short panicles. The fruits are smooth, yellowish-green ovoid drupes of 3-6 cm long and 1.3-1.5 cm broad containing one oval seed.

Why choose Athreya Triphala Capsules?
