How Do We Make Anu Thailam?

Our expert practitioners follow an ancient recipe for Anu Thailam Oil, which dates back to the 18th century. The recipe comes from an Ayurvedic text, Ashtangahridayam. We prepare the herbal nasal oil in harvested-rainwater. The water has a positive effect on all three doshas and it supports the extraction of active compounds from the herbal ingredients.

The main medium of this oil is sesame oil. We heat the herbal decoction, powder, and oil together until the watery part of the decoction evaporates completely.  Thus, the product contains fat and water-soluble active herbal principles in the oil medium. We prepare it in small batches to retain its potency and freshness.

We collaborate with farmers to cultivate some of the herbal ingredients. They follow our guided instructions to work according to substantial Ayurvedic practices. They do not use any toxic chemicals or pesticides during the harvest and processing period.

Our Ayurvedic experts (Vaidyas, traditionally trained in India) carefully curate herbal ingredients to formulate an all-natural blend that supports overall wellbeing. They do this by only choosing ethically wildcrafted and active ingredients. Such careful sourcing increases the quality of the ingredients and the effectiveness of Anu Thailam Oil and its benefits.
