SHOTHA, MRUDU KOSHTA, BEEJA DOSHA leading to RASA/RAKTA KSHAYA

Namaste and Welcome to Athreya’s Practitioner’s Forum!
In today’s forum, Ayurvedic Practitioner - Erica Muller (Founder of Okanagan Ayurveda) presents the case of a long-time patient (Female, Age - 59) with severe SHOTHA (Swelling) concentrated around the legs, MRUDU KOSHTA (Loose bowels), and BEEJA RASA/RAKTA KSHAYA (Blood disease from birth). We determine that her VATA PRADANA KOSHTA (Vata-inflicted digestive tract) has resulted in the constant generation of AMA and stagnation of fluid in the tissues. Her treatment plan includes SHOTHAHARA (Swelling reduction) via MOOTRALA (Diuretic) herbs, PACHANA, and ANULOMANA. We also discuss an 8-day NIRUHA BASTI (Decoction enema) and ANUVASANA BASTI (Oil enema) protocol for optimal healing.
