The Three-Ingredient Fall Breakfast for Energy and Joy
Not just ordinary bananas—here come the plantains. Ayurveda celebrates plantains as the best variety of banana to enjoy during the fall season. They are grounding, rich in potassium, and packed with mucilage that soothes and nourishes the digestive system.
Today, I want to share a quick and delightful breakfast idea: Golden Plantains—a three-ingredient, three-minute recipe that fills your morning with flavor, vitality, and joy.
Ingredients
-
1 ripe plantain, sliced
-
1 tablespoon coconut oil
-
1 teaspoon Athreya’s Golden Milk Powder
How to Prepare
Warm your pan and add a spoonful of coconut oil. Once it melts, place the plantain slices one at a time so they spread evenly across the pan. Let them cook until they turn a beautiful golden color. Then flip—each slice becomes what I call a golden coin.
Sprinkle a touch of Golden Milk Powder over the plantains as they finish cooking. The gentle warmth releases the aroma of turmeric, black pepper, nutmeg, and saffron—creating a rich, fragrant layer of nourishment.
The Ayurvedic Benefits
-
Plantains: Loaded with potassium and natural electrolytes, they strengthen the muscles, soothe the gut, and provide steady energy.
-
Coconut oil: Nourishes the tissues and supports balanced digestion.
-
Golden Milk Powder: Combines turmeric, black pepper, nutmeg, and saffron—known for anti-inflammatory and mind-calming effects.
Together, they make a breakfast that invigorates the body for the day and calms the mind for the night.
Jay’s Daily Routine
In the morning, I enjoy Golden Plantains alongside oatmeal or Amaranth cereal—an energizing start to the day. In the evening, I drink Golden Milk to relax, restore, and prepare for restful sleep.
Each golden coin is a reminder of what Ayurveda teaches: that food can be medicine, joy, and mindfulness all in one.
So here is one golden coin for you—for a hundred years of healthy mornings, full of happiness and warmth.
