• Amalaki grows in the tropical regions of India. It is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree, which grows up to 8-18 feet tall. Its branches are 10-20 cm long. They are glabrous or finely pubescent with closely set leaves (4-8 inches long). Its leaves resemble pinnate leaves with their light green hues.
• A gray-green and flaky bark covers its crooked trunk and spreading branches.
• Amalaki flowers come in greenish-yellow colors. They bear depressed globose fruits that contain brown seeds. These fleshy fruits turn light yellow or brick red when they are ripe. Each ripe fruit contains six dark brown seeds.
